Alderley Edge General Practice

Repeat prescriptions may be obtained by ticking the boxes on the counterfoil of your prescription or by filling in a request slip (available from reception). Please drop the request into either the box in the hallway or on the reception desk of the Alderley Edge surgery or hand it to the receptionist at the Prestbury surgery.

Prestbury patients should ring the prescription ordering line for prescriptions to be collected at Alderley Edge. Please do not ring the prescription request line if you wish to collect your prescription from Prestbury, please telephone the Prestbury surgery on 827319.

Please allow 2 working days for your request to be processed and collect after 3.30pm. If you would like us to post your prescription to you, please include a stamped self-addressed envelope with your request. If you would like your medication to be delivered to you at home, please contact your usual pharmacist to arrange.

How to register for online repeat prescription ordering

Patients over the age of 16 need to register at the surgery by bringing in two forms of identification (i.e. passport and a recent utility bill); they will then be given a code to register online at:

Alderley Edge

Please telephone or call in (or book on-line)to arrange an appointment with a doctor. We have morning and afternoon surgeries Monday to Friday (except public holidays). We also offer late evening appointments (18.30-20.30) with two doctors one evening each week. Appointments may be booked in advance but we also try to keep some appointments that may be booked on the day.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to keep your appointment.

Please arrive promptly to assist us in keeping to time. The traffic in Alderley Edge can be very busy at peak times and parking can be difficult. Please leave plenty of time to get to your appointment.

Prestbury

Prestbury surgery is open Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday and Friday mornings and Thursday afternoon. Appointments can be made by phoning or calling into either Prestbury or Alderley Edge.

Special Appointments

Each appointment lasts ten minutes. If you feel that you have a complicated problem, or a number of problems that you would like to address in a single visit, please request a double appointment. Please ask the receptionist if you are not sure.

Emergencies

Please let the receptionist know if you need to see a doctor urgently. The surgery is no longer open on Saturday mornings, please phone the out-of-hours service 01625 502999. We will always see genuine medical emergencies and poorly children when we are open.

Home Visits

The doctors do home visits for housebound patients and under certain other circumstances. Please phone before 10am if you think you need a doctor to visit you at home.

Whilst we appreciate that it may be difficult to get to the surgery for various reasons (e.g. transport), we feel that we can offer a quicker and more comprehensive service if you are able to attend the surgery.

Telephone Advice

Results are available from the receptionists over the phone after 2pm. If you require advice from a doctor, please phone at about 12.30pm and we will try to deal with your enquiry. If the doctor is unavailable we may ask for your telephone number to ring you back.

Alderley Edge

There is a nurse available every morning, Monday-Friday, 08.30-12.00. Each appointment lasts 7 minutes. You may request a double appointment if you think you will need longer, please check with reception if you are unsure how much time you will need.

Prestbury

There is sometimes a nurse or phlebotomist available (please check with the surgery). Each appointment lasts 10 minutes. You may request a double appointment if you think you will need longer, please check with reception if you are unsure how much time you will need.
